A colourful way to relax and focus.

Carl Jung believed that the creation of a mandala is the way to wholeness. At a difficult time in his life he painted one everyday and from his experiences developed many of his psychological theories.

MANDALA means "circle" and mandalas have been used by the Bhuddist monks for centuries as an aid to medititation and celebration of life. The circle represents the Soul , or the Inner Self. Traditionally , many complex, sacred geometric shapes and symbols are used to give meaning and some have hundreds of deities within them.

You can fill your circle [self] with whatever you like. Photographs of loved ones, cut out pictures of flowers or animals, colours, shapes, sequins or any thing else you choose. The end result is an affirming statement of you, your life and those things that you love most.

Yes, there is something magic and powerful about the circle. Fairy rings and magic circles, the Round Table. the Karmic Wheel of Life, all are examples of circle power.

Colouring a mandala can be an empowering experience. It focuses the mind, aids relaxation and helps to balance left and right brain activity. The repetition of shapes within a mandala is reassuring and can help to "settle" a chaotic mind
